About the music:
{Every time we hear music and or sound we experience its energizing effect. Our mood is altered as well as our physical, emotional, mental bodies, and our spiritual awareness.
Since the universe is created through patterns of frequency, everything exists on a vibratory basis.
Scientifically we know that electrons are moving and vibrating. Using an energy medicine technique of sound therapy one can alter frequency patterns of disease and illness by a self healing process I call tuning in and toning out.
I use a wide range of high and low frequencies here in each piece. Higher frequencies activate the ear muscles, improving the focusing function of the ear and central auditory processing. It also promotes acute perception and higher awareness.
Lower frequencies seem to detoxify toxicities that correlate to depression, mental illness since they can correspond to brain wave frequencies.
We are deficient in certain tones at any given time though it varies from one individual to another. Through sound therapy and toning we can maintain our bodies in a healthy state.
It is a healing intervention that influences the body by somehow altering its frequency resonance.
This series focuses on vibration healing and even though I integrate vocal toning in some of the compositions, I did not create these pieces as a back drop specifically for developing vocal toning techniques.
I use tonal and atonal sound in this music. They represent the duality of our make-up. You cannot have darkness without light and vice versa. It's all about balance.
Ultimately this music can be used as a source of entertainment when you want to alter the mood of a room to a more thriving energized aural environment, and relax those around. You can not help being affected by its healing powers in a positive light.
These journey meditations work with resolving harmonic conflicts through my intuitive-creative processing of tone generating sound and song.}

Mejdaji expands on his eclectic styles of music from East to West incorporating frame drumming, vocal poetry, song, middle eastern melodies and orchestrations. Maya: defined as the world of illusion, where anything that can be imagined can take form in the time / space continuum. I wanted to present a body of music that takes you on a journey with flow and change. Through your hearing senses spark that picture show of the mind and transport the witness down roads seldom traveled.
Many surprises weave their way in and out of this special selection of inspired pieces making this an entertaining CD. It has a variety of hand drumming (mostly dominated by Frame Drums), unique vocal works, eastern tabla & tanpura, and other instruments and surprises. I ended up doing everything myself, except for voice on one live piece. This CD is bit different than any of my other releases, but I think it will be enjoyed by all. World Music with elements of middle east, classical, rock, jazz, thought provoking - uplifting lyrics.

On this recording project drums from all around the world were used and incorporate styles from Africa, Middle East, Native American, Asian.
I simulated small to large ensembles of percussionists, but it is all performed by me with the use of overdubbing. These pieces are based on ideas and rhythms I have used during these trance / journey dance events. It is condensed to approximately 60 minutes and will provide a great audio for journey dance as well as listening enjoyment.
I have lead journey drumming performance in group settings over the last few years. It started off with participants taking a journey through the mind while seated, or laying down. It was more of a meditative event with deep breathing. I modified this to incorporate movement, to freely express oneself with body. I did forms of Native American, African, and other styles of hand drumming. Eventually I added other percussionists in a drum circle fashion. I called this group body and mind movement event "Tribal Trance Dance".
I invite you to take part in this hypnotic, intense, tribal landscape of infectious brooding rhythms.
